Thoughts On All-Star Saturday Night...

Posted on: February 17, 2008 1:26 am

Shooting Stars- So lame!

Skills Thingy-...I just couldn't get into it.  How much fun is it to watch guys run around some cardboard/pass throw a hoop?

3-Point Shootout- Kapono flat out owned that contest...He didn't even need the final rack to win.

Dunk Contest- Was Dwight Howard's second "dunk" even a "dunk"? I mean, he didn't even touch the rim!  All he did was a jump hook with a cape on!  I think Jamario Moon should've used some gimmicks...obviously that's the only way to win.  He jumped from FURTHER than Dwight Howard and actually DUNKED it with his left hand (he's right handed) but because he wasn't wearing a cape it's not impressive.  IMO the Slam Dunk Contest was as boring as watching molasses in February.

Thoughts On All-Star Saturday Night...

BJ4WS - Was Dwight Howard wearing that "Superman" cape?? I saw that quickly on the ESPN weekly highlight reel, but if that's what you're referring to, he didn't touch the rim at all. He basically threw it down (and was lucky it didn't hit the back iron, incidentally). But it made for a good show, nonetheless.

Yes he was coachbill...It was a good show, but I was just pointing out that Howard actually didn't dunk it at all and Kenny Smith was praising it as a Top 3 dunk of all time...

Thoughts On All-Star Saturday Night...

I think it was more impressive to see him throw it through the rim. He was so far above the bcket that he could throw it down and not even worry for a second if it was gonna hit back iron. That athletic feat was one of the nastiest I have ever seen, let alone a vertical leap from a guy that is nearly 7 feet tall.
